ITINERARY
Tour starts to drive you to Taman Ayun Temple in Mengwi – It is a royal temple that was built in 1634. It is one of the largest temples in Bali. Entering the temple through the split gate, candi bentar, feels like entering a single edifice split through the midle. This temple is very unique because in the temple we can find another temple representing the temple of Ulu Watu, located in the southern part of the island. After the middle yard there is a kori agung gate. It is said to show the reunion of the halves of the candi bentar. No one is allowed to enter the inner yard except the one who wants to pray. You can still see the inner temple by walking arround it. The royal temple itself is surrounded by the water representing the sea. So, the temple looks like an isle. From Taman Ayun the trip will continue the only one Botanical Garden in Bali, located at Bedugul high land. It is about 1,500 meters asl. Enjoy the journey by driving slowly in the huge tropical garden. On a half way up make a stop at the orchid garden and opposite the street is the cactus nursery. Fresh and cooling air will blankit you. The temperature ranges from 20 -28 celcius degrees. Not far from the botanical garden is the prime lake in Bali, Ulun Danu. After lunch Monkey Forest is another stop. The monkeys have been inhabited in the forest for so long ago. No one knows when they first time inhabited this srea. Buy some peanuts and handfeed them. A trip in this regency is not complete without a visit to the ancient temple of Tanah Lot. This temple is very famous for its spectacular view of sunset. So do not miss it. Opposite of the temple there are some holy tame sea snakes. According to the local society they are believed as the deity and the guardian of the temple against the bad influence. You will be asked to glide them at your convenience but it is only if you are brave enough to do it (own risk). Leave a little donation into the box just right in front of the cave. Do not forget to say a wish.
