ITINERARY
Ubud, a town in central Bali, is regarded as the cultural and art centre of Bali. We could see some paintings of young artists and famous Balinese painters and other
Indonesian painters as well. Pay a visit to one of the galleries and your tour guide will gladly take you there. There are some painting museums to be worth visiting such as Antonio Blanco museum and Neka musem (entrance ticket by your own). Beside paintings you can enjoy seeing the talented sculptures working on some different kinds of wood such as ebony, habiscus and crocodile wood in the village of Mas. It is also well known for the birth of the best wood carvers and one of them is the late Ida Bagus Tilem. Just right in the center of Ubud village is the monkey forest where you can hand-feed friendly monkeys with bananas sold at the entrance. On the way back orchid garden is waiting
for you to see. Here you can find many kinds of orchid from many places in Indonesia. As you know that Indonesia is the home of not less than 6,000 of different kinds of orchid. Ask the local guide to show you special orchid from Papua, black orchid.

Mas Village – Ubud Museum – Monkey Forest

Mas Village is one of the villages in Bali fundamentally identified as the home of the best sculptures in wood. Mas Village is located in Ubud, Gianyar regency. It has very typical style of wood carving art by placing forward the distinguish synergy between human and nature. As one of the best well known wood carvers is the late Ida Bagus Tilem and son Ida Bagus Nyana. I.B Tilem has a little museum of his own collections. The carvings of Mas cannot be compared to others on this earth because they are very specific and intricated. They have been collected by international and domestic tourists.
Ubud Village is a traditional village supervising 13 Banjar (group of communities) and 6 custom countrysides. It is located in Gianyar Regency and about 20 km from Denpasar capital city. Ubud Village can be reached within 30 minutes from the capital or 15 minutes from Gianyar Town and this are is situated at the elevation of 300 meters above sea level. Ubud is surrounded by the pleasant temperature compared with other regions
in Bali. It is relatively cool in the whole year and it is an ideal place for everyone to stay especially for the painters and sculpturers. This village is occupied by about 10,000 people and most of them are Hindu and they are still able to keep the environment naturally as the way it is.
Ubud Monkey Forest is a small rain forest dwelt by some groups of monkeys and other tropical birds. It is strategically located in the heart of Ubud village and precisely located in the region of Padang Tegal Village. Ubud is sub district of Gianyar regency. Monkey forests – Balinese called Wanara Wana – are spread out in the island. Ubud Monkey
forest itself has a very important function of the continuity for the monkey habitat in
Bali. Meanwhile the local community plays an important role to keep the forest naturally for all wild animals beeing able to live in harmony.
