It is in the perfect location for guests; they have a 1 minute walk out the entrance and are on the central high street which has excellent independent shops. There is very little noise from the main road however, so gives the best of both worlds. There is also a river walk behind the hotel as well as many other walking routes throughout the area. The Bus stop from and to Edinburgh and Melrose is also located across the road. Peebles has many historic and garden locations in the area such as Traquair House, Kailzie Gardens and are all easily reached by car. Activities such as the Glentress cycle route can be reached 10 minutes by car.||The building itself used to be family home in early 1900's and converted to a hotel in the 1940's. It is a traditional hotel and the regular clientele are over the age of 50. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere with the added asset of welcoming staff. It is perfect for guests looking for good food and good service. Highlights of the hotel would be the beautiful views that can be seen from most of the rooms as well as the bar, lounge and Dining Room which are all on the ground floor.||There are standard double and twin rooms, with either a view to the front of the hotel or a view to the back of the hotel which over looks the gardens and the hills beyond. Single rooms which over look our own small putting green and Superior rooms which are larger and size and also have the stunning views. All rooms are equiped with Digital TVs, Tea and Coffee making facilities and confortable surroundings.||The hotel has a small putting green with in the hotel garden and also all guests have the opportunity to use the leisure facilities at the sister hotel the Peebles Hydro which is a 5 min walk along the same road, it includes an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room and a Jacuzzi as well as a hair dressers and a beauty therapists.
